ABOUT THE SHOW

The American master and two-time Pulitzer Prize winner August Wilson had a close relationship with The Old Globe, where three of his plays premiered. His exciting work returns to the Globe stage with the production that won the 2017 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play, directed by one of Wilson’s foremost interpreters, Ruben Santiago-Hudson. In 1970s Pittsburgh, the unlicensed cab drivers in a Hill District garage fight to save their business and their livelihoods as their neighborhood gentrifies around them. As the drivers strive to fulfill their hopes and dreams, Wilson’s bracing command of drama and thrilling sense of language conjure stage brilliance.
